We are excited to introduce Community Creators Studio, a unique after-school art experience tailored specifically for elementary students, hosted at IBTU HQ and led by skilled instructors from Heart of Los Angeles. This engaging program provides a fun and creative space for young artists to explore their imagination and express themselves through painting, drawing, and other artistic mediums.
Heart of Los Angeles’ extensive visual arts programming, designed and delivered by a talented team of established and emerging artists, offers K-12 students across Central and South Central Los Angeles an opportunity to express who they are and what matters to them while exploring different creative pathways.
Each session is designed to empower students to create art that reflects their thoughts, feelings, and perspectives on the world, fostering meaningful connections with their community. The program also includes a dedicated drop-in hour, where students can receive additional support, continue working on their projects, or simply enjoy a relaxed, creative environment before the main session begins.
At the end of the program, participants will have the exciting opportunity to showcase their work in a community art exhibition, inviting friends, family, and neighbors to celebrate their creativity and accomplishments.
Who Can Participate?
Elementary Students: Open to all elementary school students who want to explore their creativity and learn new artistic skills in a supportive environment.

Our engaging school assemblies bring important social issues to the forefront. Through interactive sessions, students gain awareness, empathy, and a sense of responsibility.
These assemblies are tailored to meet your school’s objectives and goals and create a platform for open dialogue and community building.

(Ex. Combating testing anxiety, Anti Bullying, Social-emotional skill development, etc) -
Our flagship program focuses on empowering young minds to become active community builders. Through a curriculum designed for real-world impact, students learn the value of community engagement, leadership, and problem-solving.
This program 8 week in-school program forges strong social bonds by promoting community-building.
We ensure our youth are academically inclined and deeply rooted in the values of service and community cohesion, leading to a brighter future and a stronger sense of self. -
Empower parents to become advocates for our students at community meetings and beyond with our 8-week Parent Engagement Program.
Similar to our Youth Community Builders program, we provide parents an opportunity to participate and grow through the lens of community building and service. IBTU will curate weekly sessions and a guided group project that will allow the parents to learn about their fellow community members and report their findings. In collaboration with school administration, parents will create a comprehensive community engagement plan that IBTU can help execute in future sessions.
This initiative addresses resource constraints, promotes awareness, and overcomes barriers to parental involvement.
